Great Moment From Providence’s Frozen Four Practice Today: Drew Brown Made His Return To The Ice

In case you’re unfamiliar with Drew Brown’s story, he’s on the PC hockey team and last year was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma (a rare form of cancer). Two months ago Brown was told by doctors that he’s cancer-free. Since then he’s been rehabbing and I imagine is just trying to get back to being a regular college kid. At the end of practice today Brown skated out onto the ice and the team went bananas. I was there and didn’t even realize what was happening at first. I wish I had put it together fast enough to get a video of it because it was awesome. Based on the reaction on the ice I don’t think he told anyone he was going to do it. It was a really cool moment.

Do not sleep on the Friars this weekend. National Championship or bust.
